Pleased with Progress

Saturday saw a trip to Great Haywood to see how the boat was coming along.  Unusually, it was a nice day, the sun was shining, and there was no wind – good boating weather.  Every other time we’ve been there it’s been bloody freezing.

Anyway, on to the boat.  The portholes and Houdini hatches are in,

CIMG1012 and the lining out of the inside, including most of the trim, has been completed.  It looks like a boat now, as opposed to a bare shell.  Ben has also divided up the space so you can see how big each room will finally be.

Taken from the front doors, lounge towards the galley.

CIMG1006  From the galley towards the front doors.

CIMG1007 Galley itself.  Ben had drawn the units out onto the floor, and there is going to be loads of room.

CIMG1004 Bedroom at the rear, leading into the bathroom.

CIMG1010

Nice chunky trim – 35 mm, apparently.

CIMG1008

Nice big lounge.  You can just see the back end of NB Dutch Barge Trudy-Ann through the doors.

Only small change has been the dinette which is now 5’, as the size we had specified wasn’t quite big enough.  We’re not planning to use it as a second bed in any case, so that’s fine.  We were pleased at how light it was inside with the portholes, having 3 hatches does make a lot of difference.  It’s all looking really good.

I see you've installed the golf clubs already...

Lol, I don't think they are golf clubs, some kind of bracing thing. It looked a bit complicated, so I didn't ask!!
